This is a reminder that the force’s old non-emergency telephone number will be switched off permanently on Monday 9th January 2012.
The 0300 300 9999 number was replaced with 101 in November, in line with a national roll-out.
The 101 number gives people one easy way to contact officers, helping to keep communities safe. It was also introduced to help reduce the pressure on the 999 system, which often fields non-emergency calls.
Calls to 101 cost 15p per call, irrespective of how long the call may last and applies to all landlines and mobile phones.
