Jill is the Borough Councillor for Watnall & Nuthall West
Jill was elected to Broxtowe Borough Council in May 2003 as a Conservative Councillor for Nuthall West and Watnall. Jill has been involved with local politics for over 20 years as a Nuthall Parish Councillor. Is the Chairman of Nuthall Parish Council and married with one son. Until recently worked as a teacher of IT. In her spare time, Jill enjoys reading and cooking. She is also a member of the East Midlands Regional Assembly Health Committee.
Jill attends Greasley Parish Council meetings on a regular basis and is a Governor at Mornington Primary School and Larkfield Junior School, as well as being a member of the Travel to School Plan Group.
Jill's immediate concerns for the Nuthall area are crime and anti-social behaviour issues. Neighbourhood Watch has been set up in Nuthall West and Watnall.
Jill is involved in the Nuthall Community Action Team (CAT). Meetings are held with residents and officers of the Council on a regular basis, providing a forum to discuss issues of importance with local people in the area, and welcoming attendance.
Jill runs a Councillor's surgery on the first Saturday of each month at The Temple Centre between 9.30 and 10.30 pm and Spinney Sheltered Housing Scheme between 10:30 and 12 noon. As there is no waiting area at the Spinney Shelter it is advisable to make an appointment on 0115 927 9027. No appointment is required for the Temple Centre Surgery.
